Rev. Duwayne Pounds, Pastor of the Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church,  is to be commended for expressing the truth about the movie, "The Passion Of The Christ."  I also agree with his statement about 'Who Killed Jesus.'  Read on!   (Second Print, by request"

                                                         THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST
                                                        What The Movie Cannot Show

From all indications "The Passion Of The Christ" is a historically precise and visually stunning portrayal of the final days and crucifixion of Jesus. Yet the most important detail of Jesus' final hours are not in the film. What viewers will not see - cannot be filmed.  While three hours of darkness cloak the cross a transaction takes place that has been planned since the dawn of time.
This transaction entails a crucial fact observed by the present controversy surrounding the film - WHO KILLED JESUS?  The point is, Jesus was not a victim.  No one took His life from Him.  Not Jews. Not Romans.  Jesus gave His life willingly and purposefully.  It was His choice, what He wanted.  In fact, it was the reason He was born.
Why? Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, because we owed what we could not pay.  Only Jesus can satisfy our debt to God for our sins.  Jesus has paid this debt. During those three dark hours Jesus suffered an eternity of hell so you and I would not have to do so.  Jesus has cancelled the debt.  It is finished!
It only remains for us to trust in His work and God's promise.  "The Passion Of The Christ" does not reveal the fullness of this fact.  It is something no movie could ever show.  But, Praise the Lord, it is a fact.

Yes, Jesus died, He was buried, He arose from the grave, a victor from the dark domain, "He was taken up, ascended, and a cloud received Him out of their sight."  And this is not all, "This same Jesus .. shall come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into Heaven." (Acts1:11)  And this is not all, "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again ...this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord ... shall be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (1 Thess. 4: 13-18)
