"A FAMILY REUNION"

I read just recently that a 12 year old boy was kidnapped from his mother, by his dad when he was 15 months old,  and just recently he was reunited with his mother.  What a joyful reunion this must have been.

I rejoiced October 9 when I saw my wife and four of her first cousins, visiting at the Seals Reunion.  All of their parents have parted this life - now it is cousins.  Sure, we were blessed as we fellowshipped together. As Christians we also have the joy of anticipating a very special reunion.

"And the dead in Christ will rise first.  Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,  to meet the Lord in the air;  and so shall we ever  be with the Lord"(1 Thess. 4: 16-17).   Now that's a family reunion!  Someday we'll experience a reunion that never ends.   Praise the Lord!!! Hallelujah!!!  Christians never have to say "good-bye";  just "until we meet again."

Have you ever been separated from your family? If you have ever been apart from your family for any length of time, you know how difficult it is.   Moses also had been separated from his family. Zipporah, his wife of 40 years, and his two sons had been sent back to the land of Midian while he returned to Egypt to lead Israel to freedom. With that challenge behind him, Moses was ready to be reunited with his loved ones—and Jethro was gracious enough to bring this about. While Scripture gives no details, you can imagine what a joyful reunion it was. [Exod. 18: 2-5].

I want to change gears,  and  speak my heart about what is happening to Judeo Christian America - that would deny us the great family reunion.  [**] "Judeo-Christian values are what distinguish America from all other countries.  That is why American coins features these two messages: "In God we trust" and "Liberty."  The real meaning of the Judeo-Christian is a belief in the Biblical God of Israel.  Beloved, America must/will answer morally to this God,  not to the governments of the world.  As Judeo-Christian values disappear from American public life - even to remove mention of God from all public life,  and make Christmas a private, not a national,  holiday."

If we Christians don't catch fire and glow for the Lord - get up,  get out of "Our Comfort Zone;"  false religions,  and self deifying gods  - tools, if you please - just a sample of tools Satan is using to spread lies that lead to eternal damnation.   Unbelievers are its preachers and teachers.   The Devil is using the world to spread false beliefs and rebellion against the true God.  To see this all we have to do is turn on the TV and we can see the sins of abortion,  homosexuality,  paganism and the occult are promoted.  Add to this the fact that our Christians freedoms are being slowly reduced by a government more concerned with itself than its people, and you can begin to see how actively hostile the world is to Christianity.  We can see it and watch it from the comfort of our easy chairs.

Let us not sleep.  - let us not awaken one day to find ourselves in bondage to the political correctness of anyone who defines our right to speak of Christ right out of existence.  Let's not forsake the cross of Christ and let's not ignore the Great Commission.  We Christians need to study God's Word and support those who further the kingdom of God.

[+]  "Dear Lord, our nation was founded with Your help on Judeo- Christian religious beliefs. Our moral guidelines were Your ten commandments. Our young people learned right from wrong! ... Today, when a sixteen year-old high school student was asked to define "right," she answered, "I guess whatever makes you feel good, whatever seems right to you!" ... When asked by the interviewer, "If I wanted to murder you, would that be right?" ... The teenager answered, "Well, I suppose you'd have your reasons!" ... And so today, we find ourselves not wanting to offend anyone, and in danger of standing for nothing! ... Remind us, Lord, that the late Catherine Marshall predicted that by taking prayer out of our schools, we would bring on our nation's downfall! ... How can we survive as a nation, as a people, who find their streets, their homes, and their communities unsafe? How much longer can we lock You out of our schools and call ourselves a "free nation?" ... Oh Lord, open our eyes to see the error of our ways, lest we become just another page in history, repeating the sins of Your people as recorded in the Old Testament -- denying Your existence and truth, and turning to other "gods." Help us, Lord, before it is too late!"

In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen.
