I read some time back, "Like sands through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives."  Now, I am not sure of the wisdom  of that statement,  but let me leave with you a couple of truths that I believe are clearly implied.  First, "Life is short."  Second,  "Life is filled with many changes."  James [4:14] gives this testimony:  "For what is your life?  It is even as a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."   Some of the happenings of life are good and others are not so good.  Also, what happens to me might not happen to you.   But, it is safe to say that there are some things that will happen to each and every person in the world!    Since life is so short, I want to point out:
                                      " TODAY'S CHOICES DETERMINE TOMORROW'S DESTINY"

A young man on his way to Boston,  growing tired as he walked, lay down to rest and soon fell asleep.  A wealthy couple came along,  and noticing that he looked like their long lost son,  thought of adopting him - but they went on their way.  A little later A young woman came along, and she was impressed with his looks - she was the one woman who could make him happy, but he didn't waken.   After that some robbers came along,  thinking to steal his possessions and kill him if he awoke - were frightened off by a barking dog.  Finally he awoke and continues his journey.  Wealth - Love - and death had cast their shadow over him,  but he knew it not.

It has been said that "Coming Events Cast There Shadows"."  Beloved, we are not victims of fate which determines our future.  Today's events cast shadows on tomorrow,  but they are of  our own making.   Do not be mislead;  you, or anyone else are not at liberty to "make provision for the flesh to fulfill the lust thereof."  To suggest this is to contradict the law of God.  The wise preacher, Solomon, makes this clear - pleasure is vain: ".. light is sweet .. a pleasant thing it is for the eyes.  But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all, let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many" [Ecc. 11: 8].

It has been said:  "Life is not worth living ... man is just a clog in a big wheel."  That is what the world, the Roaring Lion would have you believe.  It all seems so meaningless.  Why? why bother to live at all? I want to answer this question by telling you a story about "A church that received a large sum of money." "The church had a congregational meeting to decide how to spend it.  One lady stood up and timidly proposed,  "A New Chandelier be bought for the sanctuary."  One brother stood up and protested:  We don't need a new chandelier for the church - no one here can play it - what we really need is more light."   Silly?  Yes!  I also believe it is silly to look at what we can hold in our hands and ask:  "Is Life Really Worth Living?"  But what did Jesus say about this?  He gave the answer in Luke 12: 13-23.  He said:  "A man's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he posseth.  Etc."

Yes, man is going to die [less the Lord raptures us], and if one reads and hears only what they want to read and hear - YES, we just may draw the conclusion:  "It is not worthwhile for man to live."  But Solomon does not draw this conclusion.  Take time to read Ecclesiastes 2: 24-26.  These verses tell us, we should accept the blessings of God, and enjoy them now.  God has a purpose in our lives,  and the things of the world can never really satisfy us.  We must find God's will for our lives and let Him mix the ingredients,  according to His purpose.

Life is worth living - you are more that a clog in a wheel.  But your action's today determines tomorrows happiness. You can't sow wild oats and have happy memories.
