“Forks In Our Road”
Picture yourself going down a road and you come to a fork in the road; you have a decision to make. Have you ever had to stop, because a choice must be made. Question: Did you ever turn back for fear of going the wrong direction? Or did you choose one of the two and set yourself steadfast in traveling on. This is a person of decision.
World War Two brought many of us to a place of choosing; volunteer, or wait for the draft. I chose, volunteer. I wanted the navy, and volunteered, only to be turned down. I have little strength in my left hand/arm. But guess what, the army did not turn me down.
For many years I failed to make the right choice in my life, regarding salvation. Only after marring my school sweet-heart in 1948, and I made the right choice, did we face the decision, “Accept Jesus as our savoir,” or reject Him. PTL,
We made the right decision. Yes, we have had to face many forks in our road of life; like giving up a good job, and going back to school for six years, and acknowledging the call to the ministry. Again, the right decision. And as we continue our pilgrimage, we will face other forks in our road of life.
There comes such a point in every person's life decisions must be made. Decisions must be made between the Flesh and the Spirit, God and Satan, God's people and Satan's people. Shall we choose self, friends, family, the way of least resistance, or God? It matters not what successes one may enjoy or what promises the world may hold, the choice of God must be made.
As we study
the Scriptures we see many people who made the right choices, such as Joseph,
Joshua, Elijah, Paul, etc.
As we consider these people, none stand out more than Moses. Heb. 11:24-26.
Thus, what is your decision in life today? Which road will you take? Our choice is essentially the same one Moses had to make. Will we identify ourselves with the people of the world or the people of God? Will we enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season or will we enjoy the pleasures of righteousness? Will we, by our actions, reap the eternal destruction of the soul or will we be rewarded eternal life?
What will your decision be?
