“SEARCH ME O GOD”
“And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, has not forsaken them that seek thee.” Psalm 9:10
What are some things YOU as A family can do at Christmas to assure the season is Christ centered? Christmas has become a secular holiday in which the god of materialism is worshiped. This must be combated with a deliberate effort to make Christ the focus of Christmas. Church should be attended, the bible should be read, the poor should be remembered, the lonely and forsaken should be included at the family gatherings. In short, anything that helps take the focus off self and calls attention to God is helpful in directing our thoughts to Christ and the story of His birth. (In part from “Leader’s Guide”)
Be willing to go out on a limb with the Lord Jesus, if that is where He leading you, it is the safest place to be. Your desire to live a risk-free life is a form of unbelief. Your longing to live close to the Lord Jesus is at odds with your attempts to minimize risk. You are approaching a crossroad in your journey. In order to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, you must relinquish your tendency to play it safe.
Let the Lord Jesus lead you step by step through this day. If your primary focus is on Him, you can walk along perilous paths without being afraid. Eventually, you will learn to relax and enjoy the adventure of our journey together. As long as you stay close to Him, His presence protects you wherever you go.
A Blessed Christmas,
Bro. Roy
